The Dionte Neal Experience

Let's just get right to it. Dionte Neal hung 39 points on the Bearcats, and he did it shooting 86% from three. Eighty-six percent. From beyond the arc. In a playoff game. That's not a stat line — that's a cheat code.

But scoring was only half the story. Neal added 10 assists, 5 rebounds, 6 steals, and a block. The man was everywhere. He was the point guard, the shooting guard, the small forward, and the guy who stole your lunch money on the way to the locker room. Oh, and that steal total? Not a fluke. Neal has recorded three or more steals in 52 consecutive games. Fifty-two. That streak is old enough to have its own playoff memories.

Paul Cauthen Jr. Was the Other Problem

If you spent all night game-planning for Neal (understandable), Paul Cauthen Jr. made you pay. He went off for 25 points, 7 assists, 7 steals, and somewhere between 8 and 9 rebounds — close enough to a double-double that the stat sheet is still arguing about it. Cauthen was a walking triple-double threat and the kind of second option that makes opposing coaches stare at the ceiling at 2 a.m.

The Supporting Cast Did Their Jobs

Mariel Ingram was a force in the paint — 10 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 steals, and 6 points. He didn't need to score because his job was to make sure nobody else scored inside, and he did exactly that.

Frankie Galloway added 8 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals. A clean, efficient night off the stat sheet that won't make headlines but absolutely made a difference.

What's Next

Reidsville (20-1) moves on to face the Randleman Tigers on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Here's the scouting report in one sentence: Randleman has dropped 55+ points in eight straight games, so if you thought Reidsville could sleepwalk into the next round, think again. That's going to be a shootout worth the price of admission.

Anson (14-12) — season over. Respect the run, tip the cap, and get back to work in the offseason.
