1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password. Depending on your role, we may also collect:

• School affiliation and sport preference (coaches and players)
• Display name (community users)
• Photos and videos you upload (ScoreSnap, highlights)
• Content you create (articles, community posts, replies)

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the Friday Night Film Room service
• To authenticate your account and manage your session
• To display your profile and content to other users
• To send notifications about scores, articles, and community activity you follow
• To process game data from uploaded scoreboard images (ScoreSnap)
• To generate articles from voice interviews (Press Box AI)

3. AI-Powered Features

Friday Night Film Room uses AI services (Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude) to extract game data from scoreboard photos and to assist writers in article creation. Images and text submitted to these features are sent to the respective AI provider for processing. We do not use your data to train AI models. These providers process data according to their own privacy policies.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Supabase. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Authentication uses JSON Web Tokens (JWT) with 7-day expiration. On iOS, tokens are stored in the device Keychain.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — Database hosting
• Sanity CMS — Editorial content management
• Mux — Video hosting and streaming
• Google Gemini / Anthropic Claude — AI vision and text processing
• Vercel — Web application hosting
• Apple Push Notification service — iOS notifications

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Update or correct your information through your profile settings
• Delete your account at any time from the app or website settings
• Request a copy of your data by contacting us

7. Data Retention

When you delete your account, we soft-delete your user record. Your published content (articles, game data, community posts) may be retained in an anonymized form. You can request complete data removal by contacting us at the email below.

8. Children's Privacy

Friday Night Film Room covers high school athletics. Player profiles are created by the players themselves or by their coaches. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated effective date.
