Give that kid credit — stepping into a spotlight like that against a team like GDS takes guts, and he competed.

Captain America Leads the Way

Where do you even start? How about #23 Sean Brennan — "Captain America" — the future Navy Midshipman who had Williams shook before he even stepped off the bus. Players and fans from the opposing sideline were craning their necks during warmups just to get a look at the All-American captain. Brennan didn't disappoint, finishing with 2 goals and 2 assists while controlling the game from offense to defense to the X. He is the heart and soul of this Bengals club, and if GDS is going to make a state title run this spring, it's going to go as far as #23 lets it. The kid has earned every bit of that spotlight.

Bisbee Goes Off for 10 Points

The stat line of the night belongs to Jake Bisbee, who was absolutely unconscious — 5 goals and 5 assists for a 10-point masterpiece. Ten points. Read that again. Bisbee was creating at will, finding teammates in space, and burying his own chances when the defense gave him a sliver of daylight. A performance like that demands attention, and the rest of the state should be taking notes.

Yash Answers the Bell

Talk about tough. After taking a hit early in the contest, #6 Yash Bhavsar didn't flinch — he responded by going a perfect 4-for-4 on shots, putting all four in the back of the net. That's the kind of mentality that wins big games in May. No hesitation, no backing down, just pure competitor.

Coffield Keeps Pouring It On

#3 Wyatt Coffield poured in 3 goals of his own, giving GDS yet another offensive weapon that opposing defenses have to account for. When Coffield gets going, the cage gets small in a hurry.

First Career Goal for Drew

One of the best moments of the night: #17 Drew buried his first career varsity goal, and the GDS sideline absolutely erupted. There's nothing like that first one. Keep an eye on #11 Owen Samet, who has locked down the left attack position. Samet is still finding his rhythm in the offense, but the Bengals expect him to be a huge factor as the season rolls on. The talent is there, and once it clicks, watch out.
